Pastiche early 19th C poster produced for RSA exhibition ‘Enterprise’ in 1970s
Text by RSA staff. The exhibition theme reflected the current political interest in ‘Enterprise’
Hand set in metal and wood type and stock metal pictures and hand printed on grey sugar paper
This poster was used as part of one of the displays (of a 19th C printer producing a seditious poster) with extra copies run for sale to exhibition visitors.
The use of inferior paper (‘sugar’ paper, so-called from its use in the past to wrap sugar for sale) was deliberate to suit the display subject.
